Our breeding programme is built around hybrid vigour (heterosis), combining the best traits of proven beef genetics to produce high-performing, profitable weaners. We use top-quality McFadzean Meatmaker bulls (Angus/Simmental) and Sunnyvale Super Baldy bulls (Black Simmental/Black Hereford) over three breeding herds of Hereford–Friesian cows and Angus cows. Our Hereford–Friesian cows are selected for their exceptional milk production, ensuring calves receive the nutrition needed to achieve outstanding early growth and heavy weaning weights. By crossing complementary breeds, our calves benefit from improved growth rates, bred for calm temperament and easy handling, fertility, feed efficiency, structural soundness and overall hardiness compared with many straight-bred cattle. The Super Baldy bulls over our Hereford–Friesian cows consistently produce sought-after straight Black Hereford weaners, while the Meat maker bulls produce a range of attractive coat colours with the same emphasis on performance, growth and market appeal.

We began our operation through dairy grazing, which allowed us to progressively build our own stock numbers while increasing our leased land area to 910 hectares. This approach has enabled us to diversify and reduce risk—ensuring we are not reliant on any single income stream.
Alongside this, we have developed a strong focus on producing high-quality Meatmaker and Super Baldy weaners. These cattle are bred for performance, with excellent growth rates, good muscle development, and extremely quiet temperaments. Our goal is to produce weaners that are heavier at sale, easy to handle, and able to continue growing efficiently through for the next farmer to finish. Many of our weaners are ready for the works just 6 months after being weaned, making them a very efficient option for the next finishing systems.
Today, we run a mixed farming system including dairy graziers, beef, and sheep. This balance supports strong cashflow and allows us to stay connected with our local farming community.
We work closely with a network of dairy grazier clients, rearing their calves through to in-calf heifers before they return home to calve. We operate under a strict animal health programme and take pride in the results we achieve for our clients. We have a flock of 400 Highlander Sheep with very high fertility. The sheep provide great weed control and another income for lambs to the works.

Autumn Weaner's
Our Autumn Weaner Calves, born from 20 February 2026, will be ready for their finishing farms from late September 2026. Expected to weigh between 250–350 kg, they are bred to perform and are well suited to finishing operations. This year's autumn calving comprises 52 weaner calves, including 20 heifer calves, which may be slightly lighter in weight.
Early Spring Weaner's
Our Early Spring Weaner Calves, born from 25th July 2026, will be ready for their finishing farms from mid-March 2027. Expected to weigh between 250–350 kg, they are bred to perform and are well suited to finishing operations. This year's early spring calving comprises 48 cows and 20 R2 heifers, producing a quality line of weaner calves, with the heifer calves likely to be slightly lighter in weight.
Late Spring Weaner's
Our Late Spring Weaner Calves, born from 1 October 2026, will be ready for their finishing farms from late April to early May 2027. Expected to weigh between 250–350 kg, they are bred to perform and are well suited to finishing operations. This year's late spring calving comprises 80 cows and 50 R2 heifers, producing a quality line of weaner calves, with the heifer calves likely to be slightly lighter in weight
